What is brand AI visibility checker
Brand AI Visibility Checker is a free tool that shows how five AI assistants and Google AI Overviews answer when someone asks about your brand in your category. It asks each one the same two questions, records whether they know you and whether they recommend you, then measures that against your public footprint on Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, X and the review platforms that fit your industry. You get one score out of 100, a breakdown of where every point came from, and a side by side with two competitors.
Why brand AI visibility matters
Buyers no longer start with ten blue links on Google. They ask an assistant which tool, clinic, agency or product to pick, and they act on the two or three names it gives back. If your brand is not one of those names, you never reach the shortlist. And you never see the loss in your analytics, because the visit never happened.
Ranking on page one does not fix this. Assistants build their answers from what other people publish about you across forums, videos, review sites and press, so a brand can rank well and still be invisible in the answer. This tool tells you which side of that line you are on today.
How to read brand visibility scores
The score runs from 0 to 100 and lands in one of five bands.
- Invisible (0 to 20): AI assistants do not know you exist.
- Ghost (21 to 40): One or two models have heard of you and none of them suggest you.
- Emerging (41 to 60): You appear in some answers while competitors still get named first.
- Established (61 to 80): Most models know you and several recommend you.
- Category leader (81 to 100): AI models recommend your brand and they back it up with public evidence.
Read the band before the number. Moving from 38 to 44 changes what a buyer actually sees far more than moving from 71 to 77, because it is the difference between never being mentioned and being mentioned.

What each category represents
There are total 4 categories and each category contributes to the total score you see. The breakdown is as follows:
- AI Recognition (60 points): Six sources answer the same questions, GPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Google AI Overviews. Each is worth up to 10. Knowing you earns part of that and recommending you earns the rest. If a source fails to answer, its points are shared across the ones that did, so an outage on their side never drags your score down.
- Community Presence (25 points): How much other people discuss you on Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn and X, plus the wider web, and whether that discussion is positive. This is the raw material assistants learn from, which is why it sits second only to the answers themselves.
- Trust Signals (10 points): Whether you appear on the review platforms that fit your industry and what your star rating looks like. A dental clinic gets checked on Healthgrades and Google, a SaaS product on G2 and Capterra, a car brand on Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book, and so on.
- Freshness (5 points): How recently the web talked about you. Older coverage still counts, but recent coverage is what assistants reach for first.
How visibility score is calculated
Every check starts by reading your site and working out your brand name, your industry and the category phrase a buyer would actually type. From there it runs a fixed set of questions and searches.
Five AI models get the same two questions, one about your brand and one about your category, and their answers are read for whether they recognize you and whether they recommend you. A separate search checks whether Google AI Overviews names you for that same category question. Around twenty more searches count how often you come up on Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, X and the open web, and how recently. Your Google Business Profile and the review platforms matched to your industry are checked for star ratings and review counts.
Each part earns points against the caps above, the four categories add up to 100, and your two competitors run through the same process so the comparison sits on one frame.
Who can use brand visibility checker
Anyone with a website and a brand name. The tool sorts your business into one of the categories before it runs, so it checks the right review platforms and asks the right category question whether you sell software, run a restaurant, manufacture equipment, practice medicine, sell cars or manage money. Also, the tool can be used by:
- Marketing leads: they can find out why pipeline is thinning while rankings hold
- Founders: they can check their current situation with brand AI visibility
- Agencies: can run it and then pitch with it, next to the client's two closest competitors
- SEO teams: can use it to separate a ranking problem from a mentions problem, because the two need completely different work
What to do next after seeing results
If your score is strong, keep doing what you are doing. The signals that got you into AI answers are the same ones that keep you there, so maintain the pace of third-party coverage rather than treating the result as finished.
If your score is low, the work is expanding your topical authority. That means more pages on your website and more content across your category, not a one-off fix. But volume alone will not move this. Content has to be written in a specifically GEO-optimized way for AI models to read it, quote it and attribute it to your brand, which is a different craft from writing for rankings.
This is exactly what Snoika does. We run an SEO and GEO audit, generate a content plan built on deep analysis of your category, your industry, your ICPs and many other factors, then handle publication and ongoing optimization so your content and your website score well on AI radars.
Common questions
What does the brand AI visibility checker measure?
It measures whether AI assistants know your brand, whether they recommend it, and whether the public web gives them a reason to.
How is it different from the GEO checker?
The GEO checker scores one page. This scores a whole brand. A page can be perfectly built for AI citation and still belong to a brand no assistant has heard of, and a famous brand can have pages that block the crawlers entirely. Use the GEO checker when you want to fix a specific page. Use this one when you want to know whether AI recommends you at all.
Which AI models do you check?
We check your brand in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, plus Google AI Overviews.
Is the tool really free?
Yes. You get the full score and the full breakdown without signing up. If you want the Excel export, we can send it to your email.
Why do I only get two checks per day?
Because we want to avoid spam bots attacking us and abusing the tool.
How long does a check take?
Usually less than a minute. But in case something goes wrong, you'll see the error message.
Can a high score guarantee that AI will recommend my brand?
No, and be careful with any tool that promises that. Assistants weigh things no tool can see, including how often your brand appeared in their training data and what a given model happens to surface that day. What the score shows reliably is whether the public evidence about you supports a recommendation or leaves the assistant nothing to work with.
Why is my score slightly different when I run it twice?
Because language models are not deterministic. Ask the same model the same question twice and the wording shifts, and occasionally the brands it names shift too.
My brand is well known. Why is my score low?
Usually because the models know you but do not suggest you. Recognition earns a source 4 of its 10 points and recommendation earns the other 6, so a household name that never gets named in its own category lands mid table. Open the AI Recognition section and look at which models suggested competitors instead of you.
My site ranks well in Google. Why is my brand score low?
Ranking and being recommended are different systems. Ranking rewards your pages, your backlinks and your technical health. Being recommended rewards what other people publish about you, because that is what assistants read when they build an answer. A brand with strong rankings and thin third party coverage scores low here, and that gap is the useful finding.
How do you decide my business category?
We read your site and place you in one of our categories. The category decides which review platforms get checked and how the category question is phrased. The detected category is shown at the top of your report, so you can see immediately if we called it wrong.
Why does one AI model know my brand while another does not?
They read different things. Perplexity and Google AI Overviews search the live web on every question, so recent coverage reaches them quickly. Others lean more on what they learned during training, so they lag by months and favor brands with a long public record. A split panel usually means your coverage is recent, and that gap tends to close on its own.
How often should I run this check?
About once a month. Mentions take weeks to appear in search indexes, models update on their own schedule and review counts move slowly. Running it daily shows you nothing.
