ABS Technologies IT company SEO case study

ABS Technologies grew its SERP impressions 6x in the first 30 days of working with us. Before that, Google didn't show a large share of its service pages at all. This IT company SEO case study follows the audit and indexability fixes, then explains how we mapped the content. It also covers the writing rules and publishing setup.

6×SERP impressions in 30 days
IT company SEO case study: ABS Technologies grew SERP impressions 6x in 30 days. It compares Snoika with three other options for this work.

Where ABS Technologies started

ABS Technologies is an IT services company that provides managed IT and infrastructure support for businesses. When we started, Google hadn't indexed a large part of its service pages. Neither search nor AI assistants could cite those pages.

The company's website kept its knowledge of the field out of view.

What an IT buyer asks

ABS's buyers ask direct commercial questions, and the ABS site answered none of them where search could find the answers. Businesses that need a provider ask Google and AI assistants which IT company to hire and what managed IT costs. They also ask how to migrate their systems.

Audit findings

We audited the site and worked through the services with the ABS team before we planned any content. The audit found these problems:

Crawlability problemsCrawl rules kept search engines away from pages meant to be found.
Duplicate pagesSeveral URLs covered the same service, so Google had to guess which one counted.
Thin pagesShort service pages gave search too little to index or rank.
Missing canonicalsNo page told Google which version of a duplicate was the main one.
Weak internal linksService pages rarely linked to each other, so crawlers had a hard time finding the deeper pages.
Unanswered buyer questionsThe site never addressed the questions IT buyers type into search.

Indexability fixes

We repaired what blocked Google before we published anything new, in this order:

  1. 011Crawl rulesWe rewrote the rules so crawlers could reach every service page.
  2. 022CanonicalsEach duplicate set got one canonical page, which removed the guesswork for Google.
  3. 033Thin page consolidationWe merged weak pages into stronger ones that cover a single service fully.
  4. 044Service page linksWe linked related services to each other so crawlers and readers could follow the path.
  5. 055Structured dataWe added markup that describes the company and its services in a form search engines read directly.

Building the content map

For ABS, a managed service provider (MSP), we built the MSP SEO plan around a content map where each page has one job. Every page on the ABS map had a defined intent and a set of prompts to answer. Its outline and internal links were also mapped out. We researched the map before any writing began, so each page filled a known gap in the buyer's questions.

Service pages

Service pages describe one service each. They say what it includes and which business it fits, and they link to the services a buyer needs next.

Question pages

Question pages answer one buyer question, such as what managed IT costs or how a migration works. The answer comes in the opening lines so search and assistants can quote it.

Guides for buyers

Guides cover the longer decisions, such as switching providers. They link back to the service pages that turn the decision into a project.

Writing rules for IT services

We wrote custom AI SEO rules for ABS content because its buyers are not technical. Every page followed four of them:

Plain languageSentences a non-technical owner understands the first time through.
Exact service terminologyThe service names ABS uses, every time.
No vendor name-droppingPages describe the work ABS does without naming other vendors.
Answer-first structureEach page opens with the answer before it explains.

The ABS team reviewed the first round, and we adjusted the rules from their notes before the next batch.

Publishing on their domain

After approval, the pages went live on the ABS Technologies domain through a DNS connection, and we tracked search visibility and AI mentions every week. Our weekly prompt sets measured the AI search mentions and share of voice ABS earned in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. They also measured sentiment and citations. When a prompt returned no citation, we knew which page needed work.

The first 30 days

ABS Technologies recorded 6x SERP impressions within the first 30 days. Keyword indexability improved, and search visibility increased significantly during that period.

What this means for you

Check how many of your service pages Google has indexed before you pay for any new content. If the answer is "not all of them," the fastest gain is technical, and this IT company SEO case study shows it can appear within 30 days.
